The Education and Skills Select Committee enquiry into Citizenship education

A Government report into Citizenship education 2006-2007

The uncorrected evidence presented by ACT at the hearing on April 26th 2007 is now available for public scrutiny on the ACT website. It can be downloaded and saved but readers should be minded that this is the uncorrected version and does not have the additional submission material sent after the hearing to the Committee. The Final report on Citizenship education from the Select Committee and the Governments Response reports can also be downloaded below.

Citizenship education, Ethics and Values Seminar Reports

Seminars exploring the impact of values and ethics through Citizenship on students, schools and teacher training.

The new curriculum for Citizenship introduced ethics for the first time. Schools are expected to roll out this new approach from September 2008 so ACT and the Nuffield foundation drew together a group of teachers, advisors and leading figures from the world of Citizenship to discuss the implications for schools, teachers and students. The report of the two seminars to date can be downloaded below.

Reports from the Five Nations Citizenship education and Values Conferences

Reports from the annual conferences of the five nations of the British Isles

The Five Nations Conferences have been held by IGE each year since 2000 with generous funding from the Gordon Cook Foundation. Each of the nations has hosted the event in turn and the conferences have been an opportunity to bring together the brightest minds involved in Citizenship and Values teaching, teacher training, policy making and academic research. The reports are available for download below.
