We are a membership organisation supporting teachers and schools in delivering Citizenship education. We connect teachers to regional and national networks, offering training, CPD, support and advice.
ACT has about 2,000 members - mainly teachers in primary and secondary schools. It is a registered charity (no. 1100180) and all profits from subscriptions and trading are re-invested into Citizenship education. ACT was founded in 2002 when Citizenship became statutory in schools in England.
Our work is lead by a group of teachers. All ACT members are encouraged to join them to help steer our work and have a leading role in Citizenship education nationally. JOIN ACT NOW
ACT membership provides an outstanding opportunity for professional development. It offers you the opportunity to network with the country’s leading practitioners and national figures in Citizenship education and shows your dedication to your profession and subject.
